Muay Thai is a combat sport Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This physical and mental discipline is known as "the art of eight weapons" because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fight very efficient.
While training in this class students will go through a warm up and then engage in the instructional portion of the class. Techniques are drilled and taught. Thai pad and bag work are typically a part of this process. At the end of class there is optional sparring for students who are ready, and more drill work for those that choose not to participate in full-contact sparring.
