Jiu-jitsu is best described as a martial art that emphasizes manipulating the opponent's force against himself rather than confronting it with one's own force. Practitioners learn to neutralize enemies with pins, joint locks, and throws.
Our jiu-jitsu affiliations are with Royler Gracie jiu-jitsu and American Combat jiu-jitsu
After a warm-up the instructor will teach students various throws, takedowns, submission holds, and sweeps. Proper drilling of techniques will take place under the supervision of the instructor. At the end of the class the instructor will allow students a chance to participate in no less than three 5-minute rounds of “live rolling” where they will get a chance to practice their techniques against a resisting opponent. Students are matched up as evenly as possible, with special care given to newer students who may not know exactly what they should be doing in certain situations.
